3 WHEEL BASIC RIDERCOURSE
The 3 Wheel Basic Rider Course is a research-based and action-oriented core curriculum designed to teach beginning 3 Wheel motorcyclists of all ages the physical and mental skills necessary to ride safely on the street.
It includes basic 3 wheel motorcycle operation, maximum effective braking techniques, turning skills, obstacle avoidance maneuvers, classroom instruction and ten hours of "on 3WMC" training.
RiderCoaches for the program are all experienced 3 wheel motorcycle operators who are nationally certified by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF). Student workbooks are provided by MTII.
Students provide their own 3 wheel motorcycle, proof of insurance, and protective riding gear.
You may be entitled to insurance premium discounts through participating insurance companies.
As a minimum, each student must be able to ride and balance a bicycle.
Each student MUST provide and wear the following required safety gear:
- D.O.T. approved helmet (loaners available)
- Eye protection (glasses or face shield)
- Full-fingered gloves
- Long-sleeve shirt or jacket
- Over-the-ankle boots (with low heels)
- Long pants (jeans with no holes or tears, sturdy material recommended)
